My work operates as a map. The tangle of shapes and colors could represent individual thoughts or a landscape of thought and feeling. I often think of being able to inhabit one of my art works and because I'm painting things that I want to see, I am also painting a space in which I would love to be

Creating images in a continual slurry of states of revision and reconsideration. multimedia approach exploring complexities and densities of energetic color fields and line (fundamental). Often Figural depictions being compressed, split, and reassembled as whole ambiguous units (personal). Digital interfacing and photographing the work continually through process corresponding with social media output (play/external). Titles of works pointing to larger political themes in the work alongside the minutia of personal detail.

internal life moves very slowly and has matched the pace of external life to its crawl.  Visual output is primarily about processing thought as tangential multi-modal self direction thought experiments. When approaching artwork seek to provide a platform for the work to direct the flow of thinking.

Interests are extreme;  pondering the willingness of humans to sell themselves into bondage and attachment and the contradiction of this in a continually reshaping post digital understanding. 

 

D E S I R E to dream things beyond ONES own understanding and to absorb them as ones own is a primal drive to CREATE AND INVESTIGATE.

Lands c a p e is primary and influential and the depiction of non malleable forms of beings that are unbound un-managed or without easy definition. The playful aspect of the spaces call to question scale and the idea of interfacing as a god or demi godin nature and with the work inspires further contemplation and photographic sampling. Compositions are outputted from the play engaged in the studio and the digital decision making that piggy backs the process (vignette//choice of value or importance.)

The fun must be had as hundreds of artworks are explorations like cat and mouse and tugging war. A works development essentially preserves an energy of focus or lack of focus, directly referencing the moment captured by the marks. Mark-making as foundation and entry point to process-the gesture-from the gut.
